Moana with oar (Moana)

Moana Takes the Boat

For this Target store exclusive figure, Moana is shown wearing her classic Polynesian outfit: a simple straw loincloth covered with a pretty, more delicate beige fabric as well as an orange belt. On top, she’s wearing a kind of sleeveless bra in colors that match her loincloth. In her hands, she holds a wooden paddle and this is what differentiates her from the basic figure. Finally, on the head, we find her brown skin and her long black curly hair pulled back.

The heart of the goddess

Moana (or Va?ana in French) is the young heroine of the cartoon of the same name from Disney studios. We can say that Moana is a new Disney princess in a way since she is the daughter of a Polynesian tribe chief and destined to become a chief herself. Although she lives on an island, her father has always forbidden her to go to sea because the neighboring island is cursed. But when the fish start to disappear and the coconut trees die on the island, Moana is determined to understand what is going on. Then her grandmother reveals to her that the stone she found on the beach as a baby is in fact the heart of the supposedly cursed island, which is in fact Te Fiti, a goddess who has taken the form of the island. So, with the help of the demigod Maui, she sets out on a journey to return her heart to the goddess.
