A little wooden boy

Pinocchio is the hero of the cartoon of the same name from the Disney studios released in the 40s and inspired by the Italian tale by Carlo Collodi. Geppetto is a poor Italian carpenter who dreams more than anything else of having a child. One day he makes a wooden puppet that he names Pinocchio. The blue fairy visits him that night and brings Pinocchio back to life and promises to turn him into a real boy if he proves worthy. Pinocchio begins to go to school and experience life and doesn’t always know the difference between right and wrong. And it doesn’t help that his nose gets longer every time he tells a lie. But guided by Jiminy Cricket who acts as his conscience, he finally proves himself worthy of being a real little boy by saving Geppetto from the belly of a big fish and the blue fairy grants Geppetto’s wish.
