Half of a Duo

Abed Nadir is one of the main characters in the show Community. The series follows a group of seven people studying at a community college in the United States. These are public universities and therefore practically free. The group consists of a stay-at-home mom and a retiree going back to school, a lawyer who has to finish the degree he never got, a young woman with no high school education, and three high school graduates, including Abed. Abed is a big fan of movies, TV shows and fantasy worlds and therefore wants to study film. He has Asperger’s Syndrome, which makes it difficult for him to understand what is going on around him in terms of emotions. At the same time, he is very perceptive and often compares situations in his group to clich?s from movies or TV shows. As soon as he joins the group, he becomes very close to Troy, a former athlete who lost his sports scholarship after an injury.
