For this exclusive 3-Pack, Funko has represented each of these hyenas with particularly expressive faces. They all have a gray body with large ears reminiscent of bats, a beige belly and black paw tips. Banzai is represented with a wide smile showing all her teeth and a raised eyebrow giving her a slightly surprised look. Shenzi is growling with half closed eyes giving him a particularly aggressive look. And finally, Ed has a big smile, eyes wide open and tongue sticking out of his mouth giving him a clear look of being the stupidest.

A trio of idiots

Banzai, Shenzi and Ed are the three famous hyenas under the command of Scar in the animated film The Lion King by Disney Studios. Scar is a lion and the brother of Mufasa, the king of the savanna. When his nephew is born and promised a future as king, Scar is jealous. He doesn’t think that the young child deserves to become king one day, whereas Scar has always been thirsty for power and is ready to do anything to achieve it. He arranges for Mufasa to die and Simba, his young son, thinks that everything is his fault. Scar will take power and, despised by the other lions, will surround himself with a band of hyenas who will form his army. Banzai, Shenzi and Ed will be the leaders of this army. They are three creatures, each one more stupid and aggressive than the other, but who are ready to do anything to keep the little power granted by Scar since he became king.
