Maleficent (Maleficent, Mistress Of Evil)

An intimidating physique

Maleficent is represented here with the outfit she wears when she comes to meet Philip’s family. She wears a long black dress with long sleeves decorated with a long bone pattern on the front and a necklace of partly golden bones. She also wears a long black cloak and her large black wings are spread out behind her. On the head, we find her very pale skin, the protruding bones of her cheeks as well as her very red lips. Her horns and her hair are as usual wrapped in a kind of hat decorated with another golden bird’s skull on the forehead. Finally, she holds a wooden stick with a blue stone at the end.

A Bad Reputation

Maleficent is the heroine of the movie Maleficent, Mistress Of Evil which is a sequel to the movie Maleficent which told Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of Maleficent. At the end of the movie, after saving Aurora, Maleficent named her Queen of the Heaths and restored peace between humans and the fairy folk. Five years later, Philippe, the prince that Aurore had met and was destined to marry, proposed to her after they had been friends and lovers all these years. This is not to Maleficent’s liking as it seems that her story has been distorted again and everyone is once again afraid of her, taking her for a truly evil character. The queen, Philip’s mother, is of the same opinion as she has an aversion to the fairy people. And when she invites Aurora and Maleficent to dinner, it is with a dark purpose in mind. A war will break out between the two peoples and Maleficent will discover at the same time that she is not the only one of her kind.
