As in the movie, the French soldier has of course a French clich? physique. One finds well his long tunic of gray plates carried with dark gray boots and gloves out of matched metal. On the head, he wears a hood of chain mail and on top a helmet in the shape of an egg. On the face, we can see his characteristic black moustache.

Absurd insults

The French taunter is a character crossed by the heroes in the film Monty Python And The Holy Grail. This movie made by the famous English comedians is more a succession of sketches on the same theme than a movie in its own right. It tells the Arthurian legend and focuses more specifically on the recruitment of the knights of the round table and the quest for the Holy Grail. During one of their first adventures, Arthur and his knights arrive at a French castle and will meet a guard with a ridiculous French accent who will throw insults more absurd than the others.
