A strange face

Since her outfit is probably inspired by the animal that gave her name, it is green although futuristic to respect the visual style of the film. She wears black leather pants and boots and a short tunic in front and long behind of a nice metallic green. The details of her garment, open at the shoulders, are nicely represented and her attitude makes her a rather graceful figure. On the head, his face is quite simple but we can see his two strange antennas evoking an insect on the top of his forehead. Finally, we can see his long black and smooth hair evoking his Vietnamese origins.

A new mysterious character

Mantis is one of the new characters making their appearance in the second episode of Guardians of the Galaxy. In the first movie, a group was formed around Peter Quill/Star Lord and after saving the galaxy together, they became a kind of family. In this second opus, we still find Peter Quill, Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax but also new characters and old enemies who are not so hostile anymore. We still don’t know much about the role of Mantis in the movie except that she will become one of the allies of the group since she will also be present in Avengers Infinity Wars. In the comics Mantis was born on Earth in Vietnam in a Kree sect that saw in her the future celestial Madonna. There she learned martial arts as well as mind and body control before being brainwashed into becoming a waitress and prostitute and later going into space. Mantis has also developed a special bond with the plant world.
