Moaning Myrtle (Harry Potter)

Poor Ghost

On this exclusive figurine, Myrtle is represented in her ghost form, a little bluish, transparent and in this case glowing in the dark. She is wearing her classic Hogwarts uniform: a large wizard’s robe with the school crest worn over a skirt as well as a shirt and a tie that can be seen just under the robe. At the head level, Myrtle wears big round glasses and her hair is styled in two pigtails on the sides as well as a funny fringe where her hair is gathered in funny little pointed locks.

A tragic death

Moaning Myrtle is one of the many ghosts inhabiting the corridors of Hogwarts castle in the famous Harry Potter books and films. We meet her for the first time in the second episode when Harry, Ron and Hermione hide in the toilets to prepare some polyjuice potion. Indeed, as a former student died in this bathroom, Myrtle continues to haunt this place, spending her time whining in a melancholic way (hence her name, Mimi Geignarde in French). Later, they learn that Myrtle was in fact the victim of the basilisk the last time it was released from the chamber of secrets and this is what will help the trio to solve the mystery. We will cross Myrtle several times in the following episodes but in a rather anecdotal and funny way. She is for example there when Harry is in the bathtub of the prefects and tries to discover the secrecies of his egg in the film The Goblet of Fire. And although she continues to have this tendency to melancholy, we learn that Myrtle can also have a naughty side.
