A warrior without equal
Brienne Of Tarth is an important character of the series Game Of Thrones inspired by the famous series of novels A Song Of Ice And Fire by George Martin, still being written. Brienne appears in season two and although remaining a secondary character, she becomes more and more important as the seasons go by. After the death of Robert Baratheon and the highly contested takeover by Cersei and Joffrey as well as the death of Ned Stark, the kingdom is torn apart and several lords enter into war each wanting the throne for themselves. Brienne declared herself for Renly Baratheon, one of the only men who had ever been kind to her during her adolescence despite her ungainly physique and considered masculine. She is even chosen to be part of his personal guard after she wins a tournament. But when Renly is murdered by a shadow sent by his brother Stannis, she is accused and Catelyn Stark, present at the time, takes her defense and offers her to serve her family. From that moment on, her loyalty will be unwavering and she will do everything to respect the oath she made to Catelyn to bring her daughters back home safely to Winterfell.
