Genji carbon fiber (Overwatch)

A more technological version

For this figure, exclusive to Target stores, Funko has represented Genji with his carbon fiber skin. As on the regular version, he still wears that full dark gray armor with bits of blue clothing underneath. And what represents him best, his helmet with spikes reminiscent of Japanese samurai helmets, is this time a very elegant dark gray and the light at his eyes is turquoise instead of green.

A new body

Genji was the youngest son of Japanese crime emperor Shimada in the video game Overwatch from Blizzard Studios. When his older brother Hanzo took over from his brother, he wanted to bring Genji back into the fold but an argument and fight ensued and Hanzo left Genji for dead. But he was in fact recovered by Overwatch and healed by replacing several parts of him by machines, thus making him a cyborg. Genji used his new abilities to help Overwatch dismantle the Shimada empire, but soon he couldn’t stand being half-machine, wondering what was wrong with his soul. He eventually found peace thanks to the omni-monk Zenyatta who taught him that even a robot could have a soul and that his mechanical parts didn’t mean he was any less of a man for that.
