Ghost The Direwolf (Game Of Thrones)

A different animal for a different boy

In contrast to the others in his litter who are in shades of gray, black or brown, Ghost is completely white. Jon Snow sees this as a sign that this one is meant for him because he too is different from the other Stark children, being a bastard named Snow. Although direwolf are supposed to be terrifying animals, in the series they are mostly represented as beautiful wolves. And Funko did a nice job with this character. He is of course in a sitting position to respect the usual proportions of the figures, he has a bushy tail and the details of his coat are well rendered. The big head characteristic of POP! figures gives him a really cute look while respecting the shape of a wolf’s head and with once again a well reproduced coat and two nice pointed ears. Finally Funko did not forget his famous red eyes that make so many people uncomfortable. There is also a POP! figure of Grey Wind, Robb Stark’s companion.

The symbol of the Stark

Ghost family is the pet” of Jon Snow, one of the main characters in the novels “A Song Of Ice And Fire” and the series “Game Of Thrones”. At the beginning of the series, the boys of the Stark family return to Winterfell through the forest and come across a dead female direwolf. Direwolf are a type of wolf but much larger and are said to be creatures from the ancient world with magical powers. As they are about to leave, they realize that the female direwolf had 5 pups. While Ned wants to kill them, Jon Snow convinces him to keep them because it is a sign since the direwolf is the emblem of the Starks and they are 5 for his 5 legitimate children. A little further on they find a sixth little white boy with red eyes. Jon decides to keep him for himself and calls him Ghost. The little ones will grow up together in Winterfell then they will be separated, each one following his “master”. Arya will let Nymeria escape so she won’t be killed by Joffrey. Lady, Sansa’s will be killed at Cersei’s request as punishment for what her sister’s would have done. As for Grey Wind, he will be killed at the same time as Robb at the Red Wedding. As for Ghost, he will follow Jon to the wall and will always stay with him. He will often warn him of the imminent danger, will protect him several times during attacks of savages or even “others”. Jon will discover that like Bran, he can see through his eyes in his dreams, although he cannot control it like his younger brother does.
