The Tamed Nightmare

Among all the dragons in the movie, Hookfang is probably the one who looks the closest to the classic” dragons. He is a reddish-brown color with a lighter chest, reminiscent of Smaug’s appearance in the “The Hobbit” movies. Even more than the other pop figures, he has a very large head with four twisted horns giving him an evil look. But his impressive fangs protruding from his mouth even when it is closed also give him a bit of a comical look. Its wings are particularly large, so they are represented folded, touching the ground and bristling with spikes. We also find the same motifs as in the film even if we could have hoped for a little more detail. If there are no Snoutlout figures to match with this figure yet, you will find the dragons Stormfly, Barf and Belch and of course Toothless to make a nice group!

The Monstrous Nightmare

Hookfang is one of the main dragons in the Dreamworks animated films, How To Train Your Dragon 1 and 2. The first film tells the adventures of the young viking Hiccup, living in the village of Berk. The village is rather peaceful, except for the regular attacks of dragons. The inhabitants have been training for centuries to be the best hunters possible. Hiccup is not a very strong man, but he can be very resourceful. During an attack, he will wound one of the most terrible dragons, but will not have the heart to finish him off. While the hunting training has begun for him and the other teenagers of the village, Hiccup will tame this dragon in secret. He then realizes that the dragons are not so terrible and only attack the village under the orders of a giant dragon. When the adults leave to attack the dragons’ nest without knowing what awaits them, Hiccup will convince his comrades to free the dragons used for training to come to their rescue. Hookfang, also called the monstrous nightmare” becomes the flying companion of a young daredevil Viking, Snoutlout. In the second episode, mysterious dragon hunters appear around the village of Berk. Hiccup’s group will have to face the danger to protect the village and their dragons.
