Hot Ryu is just a different appearance of the same character available to the players. Instead of his full kimono, this one is shirtless with the bottom of his kimono a bit more torn and some scars. At the head level, he has the same characteristic of the character with his red headband in his hair but in addition, he has a thick black beard. He was originally called bearded Ryu” but players more often called him “Hot Ryu”, so Capcom, the publisher, decided to rename him like that in the most recent editions.

Ryu is one of the main playable characters of the famous video game series Street Fighter. He is a Japanese orphan who was raised by master Gouken who also taught him his martial art, Ansatsouken. Ryu does not seek victory at all costs, he is mostly interested in what he can gain spiritually. This is not the case with his friend, classmate and rival Ken Masters, whose temperament is radically different.
