Iron Patriot (Avengers Endgame)

An Iron Man in the colors of the United States

Iron Patriot is shown here in full battle with his legs spread, one hand forward and the other fist clenched. His metal armor is very complex with many details. It is mainly blue with some red details, especially on the hands. His helmet is reminiscent of Iron Man’s in terms of shape with its two elongated openings for the eyes. This one is mainly grey with blue and red on the top of the head and on the chin.

A loyal ally

Iron Patriot is the code name of Colonel James Rhodey in the Marvel universe and more particularly in the Iron Man and Avengers movies. He is a member of the U.S. Army who became friends with Tony Stark, the creator of the Iron Man armor. He was the first to test the armor created by the U.S. Army to compete” with Tony Stark’s. But when the armor didn’t work as expected, Tony Stark ended up offering one to the man who had become his friend, making him one of the Avengers. He suffered a serious injury during the events of Captain America Civil War that caused him to lose the use of his legs. Fortunately, Tony Stark was there to help his friend and created an exoskeleton that allowed him to continue walking. At the end of Avengers Endgame, when the Avengers manage to bring back all the people who have been missing for five years and have to face Thanos again, James Rhodey aka Iron Patriot, comes to the rescue to help them out.
