A difficult childhood

Joey Wheeler is an important character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and anime. He and his sister Serenity were separated when they were ten years old because of their parent’s divorce. Joey had to go live with his abusive and alcoholic father. When he arrived at Domino High School, he often bothered Yugi, even stealing his millennium item despite the recommendations of his friend Tristan. But later, Yugi helped them when other students were bothering them and they became best friends. Yugi was later the one who trained Joey to duel monsters thanks to his grandfather.
