Legolas Greenleaf (Le Hobbit)

Legolas, the elf of the forest

Legolas is represented here with the outfit he wears during his first appearance in the film. If it changes little afterwards, it remains the most complex and sophisticated. Like all the woodland elves, his outfit is generally composed of natural colors, mainly green and brown. Here, we can see a green tunic covered with a brown leather armor with matching boots. The elven patterns on the armor are quite finely represented. But as Legolas is at this moment ready for battle, he also wears a thin rib of mesh under his tunic, as well as a breastplate and shoulder pads whose structure reminds the leaves of a tree. The elf is of course represented with his light blond hair, and as in the movie it is held back by thin braids on the side of his face. Finally, the elves are known to be, among other things, gifted in archery but it is even more remarkable in Legolas. It is therefore logical that he is represented with a bow and arrow in his hand.

Legolas invites himself to The Hobbit

Legolas is one of the characters of the movies The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies”. Although he is one of the main characters of the trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”, of which the trilogy “The Hobbit” is a prequel, he is here rather secondary. And for good reason, he does not normally appear in this story! When Thorin Oakenshield and his company of dwarves set out for the Lonely Mountain, in order to take back his throne from the terrible dragon Smaug, they cross the path of the wizard Gandalf. He decides to help them and suggests they hire a burglar, who does not know he is one, Bilbo the Hobbit. On their way, they will have to pass through the dangerous Mirkwood forest. While fighting giant spiders, they cross paths with Legolas, Tauriel and the Mirkwood elves. The dwarves being the historical enemies of the elves, the latter are taken prisoner but manage to escape thanks to Bilbo’s help. When Tauriel, who has taken a liking to the young dwarf Kili, learns that a terrible army of orcs is pursuing them, she decides to follow them to warn them. Legolas, in love with Tauriel, then decides against his will to help them too.
