Micheal Scott is the boss of the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin paper company in the American version of The Office series. He started out as a salesman and worked his way up through the ranks with his salesmanship despite not having a degree. He is a man who can be particularly insufferable, very egocentric, sexist and racist without meaning to. He always wants to be the center of attention and doesn’t hesitate to organize big events just to put himself forward. He also has a hard time taking responsibility, like when he has to fire an employee at the beginning of the series. But he is also very attached to his company and his employees that he considers a bit like his family, the latter being above all very lonely. It is thus one of these characters that we learn to like as the series goes on.
