Niffler (Fantastic Beasts)

A funny animal attracted to gold

This little magical creature about the size of a large rat looks more or less like a mole with its thick black fur and elongated snout. He was represented sitting to fit the usual dimensions of pop figures. It has pink/orange front and back paws with large claws and a thumb that can be opposed to the front paws which allow him to manipulate objects easily. As we can see, he also has a belly pocket which he uses to hide gold coins whose details are particularly well represented. At the head level, we find big black eyes and this adorable pink muzzle slightly elongated. On almost all the rest of his body, we find this thick black fur whose texture is nicely reproduced, which makes it a very successful figurine.

An adorable but destructive creature

Niffler is a small creature of the first movie of the saga Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, derived from the universe of the novels Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. The movie is based on the book written by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym of Newt Scamander and listing all the species of magical animals. Newt Scamander works for the Ministry of Magic and since he was a child he has had a great passion for all strange creatures. In 1926, the English wizard was sent to New York to continue writing his guide to fantastic animals. On his arrival, his suitcase was unfortunately exchanged with that of a muggle who let escape several of Newt’s creatures, including a niffler. These creatures are rather cute with their black fur and mole head but they are attracted to anything shiny. They have often been used to find treasure but if left unattended, they can destroy everything in a room. Newt’s attempted to rob a bank and jewelry store during his stay in New York City.
