Toph (Avatar The Last Airbender)

A powerful earthbender

Toph is an important character in the manga and cartoon Avatar The Last Airbender. Born blind, she is part of the earth people and has long suffered from her handicap but especially from the condescension with which she and her overprotective parents are treated. It was her mastery of earthbending and her discovery of metalbending that gave her more confidence, using her gift to supplement her missing senses. She decided to join Avatar Aang and his team when her parents became too much to bear. Thanks to her complete mastery, she was an important ally in Aang’s training.
