Buffy bloody (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

The daily life of a slayer

For this SDCC exclusive figure, Funko has chosen to represent a variant of the already existing figure of the character. This one is still wearing the typical Buffy look from the beginning of the series: a short red skirt with a white tank top and black boots. As always, she wears her silver cross, a small protection against vampires. At the head level, we can see the haircut for her long blond hair. Where the figure differs from the other is that we can see that Buffy is injured and has probably just fought vampires. Indeed, although Buffy usually dresses in a more practical way when she has to fight, she can’t always plan it. We can therefore see a mark on her knee but especially two big cuts on her cheek and her forehead as well as a hematoma next to her eye. Finally, she holds a wooden stake in her left hand.

A slayer like no other

Buffy is the main character of the cult fantasy series created by Joss Whedon: Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Buffy is a normal and somewhat superficial high school student until the day she is attacked by a vampire and manages to kill it with a superhuman strength and agility she never knew she was capable of. She is then told that she is the latest in a line of mystical warriors chosen to fight vampires, demons and evil forces. When she moves to the small California town of Sunnydale, she thinks she’s in the clear, but not only is her watcher, the guide assigned to each of the slayers, a high school librarian, but the town is actually located right above a Hellmouth. Buffy will have to get back to work but she will also make friends and when they discover the truth about her activity, she will, unlike all the other slayers, be helped in her task by this small group that will grow with time.
