John F. Walker (The Falcon And The Winter Soldier)

A different Captain America

John Walker is shown here wearing the Captain America outfit that he adopted. This one is very close to the one of Steve Rogers. It is a blue suit with red stripes on the chest and big military style boots. He is holding the vibranium shield of Captain America and wears the blue helmet. The logo on his forehead is a little different though. It’s an A mixed with a star. He is standing with his hand raised waving to the crowd.

A difficult role to fill

John F. Walker is an important character in the Marvel series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The series takes place after the events of Avengers Endgame and centers on Sam Wilson, Falcon, the friend Captain America made when he arrived in the present, and Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, his childhood friend who became a Hydra assassin after they brainwashed him. John Walker is a soldier that the American government appoints as the new Captain America after Steve decides to stay in the past with Peggy Carter. He is a soldier who has distinguished himself by military deeds and initially seems to be full of good will. He tries to work with Sam and Bucky, but they have trouble accepting him. Over time, John Walker begins to reveal a darker personality than he first appeared. He uses violent methods and seems to get a big head, repeating Do you know who I am?”
