A softer temperament
Mary Sanderson is one of the three witch sisters from the famous 90’s fantasy movie, Hocus Pocus. In 1692, the three Salem sisters kidnapped a little girl to absorb her energy and make herself younger. Her brother was unable to save her, but the villagers took the three sisters prisoner and sentenced them to the stake. But one of them declared that one Halloween night, a young virgin would light their black candle and bring them back to life. And indeed, 300 years later, Max, newly arrived from Los Angeles, and not believing in witch stories, breaks into their house with his new friend Allison and lights the candle to prove that he is right. The three sisters then come back to life and have until sunrise to complete the ritual with the energy of a little girl or they will return to dust. Mary Sanderson is the quietest of the three sisters, the middle one, who is not as seductive as her younger sister and not as bad tempered as Winifred. She is often the one who tries to bring peace and calm her sister’s bad moods. But she is also the one who is the most gifted to smell the children.
