Renly Baratheon (Game Of Thrones)

The King of Elegance

Renly comes from one of the most powerful families of the kingdom: the Baratheons and from the end of season 1, he presents himself as the legitimate king of Westeros. Moreover he is known as one of the most elegant men in the kingdom, so the figurine should represent all that. We find him with the outfit he wears during the tournament organized for his wedding and during which we meet Brienne for the first time. He wears a golden armor more decorative than anything else since he wears only the pectoral. We can see the Baratheon stag’s head. As often Renly wears colors recalling nature: here a green tunic and pants and a brown cape. As in the series, the younger Baratheon brother wears his hair short and a goatee trimmed fairly closely. Finally, as Renly is a self-proclaimed king, he must wear a crown and it is golden and shaped like an antler, the emblem of the Baratheons.

War of the Kings

Renly Baratheon is one of the characters of the novels A Song Of Ice And Fire” and the series “Game Of Thrones”. Renly is the younger brother of King Robert Baratheon. He is a charming, courteous and very handsome man who is said to be the spitting image of his brother when he was younger. When King Robert is seriously injured and lies on his deathbed, Renly, sensing that the king’s accident was surely caused by his wife Cersei, decides to flee the city before it’s too late. As he is about to leave, he proposes to Ned Stark to join forces with him. Knowing that Joffrey, Robert’s heir, is in fact the fruit of incest between Cersei and her brother Jaime, they want to prevent him from coming to power at all costs. But Ned decides to follow tradition and send a letter to Stannis, Robert’s older brother and therefore the logical heir to the throne after his death. He will quickly regret his decision! Meanwhile, Renly has allied himself with the rich Tyrells by marrying their young daughter Margaery and decides to go to war with the Lannisters to take the throne. But Stannis thinks that the throne is his and when Renly refuses to give up pursuing him, he will have him assassinated with the help of the magic of the priestess of R’hllor Melisandre at the beginning of season 2.
