A Wicked Witch

Winifred Sanderson is depicted here with all the appearance of a classic witch. She is wearing a long green dress with a purple yoke in the middle and a darker green over-tunic with gold laces. This one has long sleeves and out of them come green hands with which she uses her magic, some kind of green lightning bolts in transparent plastic. She also wears a long dark green cape. Finally, at the head level, we find her lips painted in red as well as her orange hair styled in a high bun on her head.

The Return of the Witches

Winifred Sanderson is the oldest and leader of the three witch sisters in the movie Hocus Pocus. At the beginning of the film, young Max arrives in the town of Salem with his family. Not too thrilled about the move, Max still has to adjust and makes new friends at his high school. With his new friend Allison, they take Max’s little sister on a Halloween trick-or-treating trip and end up at the Sanderson sisters’ old house. Not knowing the legend of the three witches, Max lights a candle he finds there and it summons the sisters back to life. Winifred is the oldest of the three and the meanest. She is bossy and does not hold her other two sisters in high regard. However, she will need them to enchant the children of the town in order to suck out their life force and stay young and beautiful.
