Zorg (The Fifth Element)

An unusual style

Like the other characters in the film, Gary Oldman’s costumes were designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier, which of course gives a look more than strange. We find this black and white striped suit over a green T-shirt and worn with big black boots that give him a Nazi look. At the level of the head, we find his small goatee of devil but especially this so particular haircut with a big black wick on a side but also this metal plate on all the right side of the head.

The Servant of Evil

Zorg is an important character in The Fifth Element, one of Luc Besson’s most popular science fiction films. In the beginning of the story in 20th century Egypt, a spaceship lands at the site of a pyramid excavation to retrieve four stones that are supposed to protect the Earth from the evil that returns every 5,000 years. They promise to protect them until then and to return when the time is right. In the distant future, around 2200, they return but their ship is attacked, crashes and the stones are stolen. However, scientists manage to recreate this famous fifth element thanks to the DNA of a hand and it takes the shape of a young woman: Leeloo. With the help of the followers of the religion that predicted the return of the aliens, she will try to find the stones and save the world. Meanwhile, Zorg, a servant of evil, has sent the Mangalore, a race of mercenaries rather stupid, to recover the stones that fell into the hands of a rather strange character who wanted to protect them.
