The World Expands

In this second film in the Fantastic Beasts series, the characters are in Paris and thus expand the magical world of Harry Potter. And so Newt is shown here holding the postcard that drives him to Paris as well. He is wearing his usual 1920’s fashion outfit of grey short pants and brown boots, as well as a smart brown jacket and grey frock coat. At the level of the head, we find this famous haircut very short on one side and with a long lock of brown/red hair falling on his forehead. Finally, he holds his wand in his right hand and the postcard showing a view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower in black and white.

The Wizard of the 20’s

This new movie takes place well before the Harry Potter saga in the 20’s, so the characters wear clothes adapted to that time. For Newt Scamander, we find this famous shortened pants worn with brown boots. On top, he wears an elegant light brown as well as a jacket matching his pants and a blue mid-length coat contrasting with the whole of his outfit and including of course a pocket for his magic wand. In his left hand he holds his wand and in the other, he holds a silver magical egg. On the head, his face is quite simple but we can recognize the characteristic haircut of the character. His hair is quite short on the left side with a thick lock of hair falling on the right side of his face.

A dangerous animal

If we have to see the movie to know what made Nagini end up being a snake permanently, Funko decided to represent the character in his snake form. It is a large brown/green snake coiled on itself with just the head up. We find the detail of its scales and patterns that can be seen on it. At the head level, we find his big yellow terrifying eyes as well as his mouth open on terrifying fangs as well as this funny tongue separating in two at the end.

An impressive set of teeth

Funko has depicted the second version of this funny little monster with its mouth wide open. As in the movie, we can see that it is a kind of reptile with its body covered with gray scales, a long tail and short legs. But it also has red and white stripes on its tail and legs. Finally, its eyes protrude a lot from its head, almost like a snail, and its mouth is therefore wide open.

The suitcase that started it all

Funko has chosen to represent Newt with his famous suitcase full of magical creatures for this SDCC 2016 exclusive figure. This figure is almost identical to the one of Newt already released with the first wave of figures for this movie. He is always represented with his brown pants a little short in the fashion of the 20’s with brown boots, a light brown jacket and this famous turquoise frock coat. But here, he wears in addition his yellow and gray scarf which reminds that Newt was a pupil of the Hufflepuff house. At the level of the head, we find well this so particular hairstyle where his hair is brought back in a mass of disordered hair on the right side. Finally, he also holds in his hand this brown leather suitcase containing all his fantastic animals.

A spectacular escape

For this movie moment, Funko decided to represent Grindelwald at the time of his escape. He is depicted on the cobblestone floor of the prison roof with his slightly unkempt look. His light blond hair has grown out, as well as his beard, and his clothes are not as elegant as what he wears later on. It is a simple gray suit with a black coat over it. He holds his wand in his right hand and we also notice his blind white eye. He is accompanied by a thestral, these creatures mixing horse, bat and bird with a skeletal appearance, only visible to those who have already seen death in the face. This one has its wings spread and is ready to fly.

Funny bug

As in the movie, the chupacabra has a gray body covered with scales but whose legs shape is more reminiscent of those of a monkey. There are also several red and white stripes on its body, around its legs and its long tail. But it is his head that is the strangest element of this character. Indeed, this one is very large with excrescences resembling whiskers and eyes coming out of his face almost like a snail.

A Majestic Appearance

Seraphina perfectly combines the usual mage attire with 1920s fashion. She wears a long black dress with a tight waist and finely reproduced gold details. The style is not without reminding the art deco, very fashionable at this period. On the head, her face is simple but we also recognize very well this particularly majestic hairstyle in gold metal covering her hair completely. We can see many details of flowers and birds.

A woman of the 20’s

As we can see in the movie, Queenie has a typical style of the 20’s, from the clothes to the hairstyle. We find this pretty blue dress with a fluid line arriving under the knee worn over a pale pink underdress. We find as well the tightened sleeves and these geometrical lines at the level of the waist and the collar very typical of the fashion of this time. With that, she wears shoes with heels very typical of the 20s and holds her wand in her right hand. At the level of the head, her face is very simple but we find her blond hair with these pretty curls very characteristic of the hair fashion of the 20s.

A real Snape

Inspired by Professor Snape, this version of Rick wears a long black robe that looks very much like a wizard’s. Underneath, we can see that he wears gray pants, a brown sweater and a blue bow tie. At the head, his gray/blue hair is longer and looks very similar to Snape’s. His arms are crossed and he has an angry expression and a ruler in his right hand.

Innocent thieves

For this new two pack, Funko has represented the two adorable baby nifflers. One is represented on all fours with his little clawed paws and his thick coat of a rather dark brown. At the level of the head, we find its naked muzzle resembling that of a mole, as well as its big black eyes. The second niffler is a lighter brown with a touch of white on his shoulders and he is represented sitting on his back.

A sympathetic physique

Jacob is represented here with the classic grey suit he wears during most of the film as well as his brown shoes. But above all, he is represented with the brown leather protective suit that he wears when he decides to help Newt to recover some of the most recalcitrant animals. At the level of the head, one recognizes well his round face as well as his small mustache. On his head, he also wears a brown protective helmet matching his vest and on which we can see the many metal spikes.
